About the role

Support children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through respectful, non-medical assistance at home. Get Care at Home is hiring patient, attentive caregivers who help each person participate in daily routines while supporting their individual preferences and independence.

What you will do

• Follow the individual care plan and respect the person’s communication style, preferences and routines.
• Assist with personal care, meals, companionship and household tasks as specified in the care plan.
• Offer supportive supervision and respite for family caregivers.
• Encourage participation in everyday activities and communicate changes or concerns to the care team.
• Provide medication reminders only when included in the care plan; this is a non-medical role.

What you bring

• Compassion, patience and respect for people from different backgrounds.
• Dependability, clear communication and the ability to follow an individualized care plan.
• A reliable way to reach assigned work locations.
• Willingness to complete the screening, verification and onboarding steps applicable to the assignment.

Experience supporting people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, including family caregiving, is valuable. Describe the ages you have supported, your communication skills and any relevant training when applying.

Pay and work location

Starting pay: $19 per hour. This is in-person work in clients’ homes. Assignment details and any role-specific requirements are discussed during hiring.
